Instructional Designer · Learning Architect

Learning design that moves people to perform.

I turn complex knowledge into clear, engaging learning experiences — the kind that close real performance gaps, not just check a compliance box.

Three projects. Three problems solved.

Each piece shows my full process — from needs assessment and design rationale to the final learning experience and evaluation plan.

New Hire Success: Your First Two Weeks

A retail onboarding module designed after discovering 30% of new hires quit within 90 days. The course closed the gap between knowing the job and doing it confidently.

HIPAA in Practice: Scenario-Based Compliance

A clinic's 94% quiz pass rate was hiding a 22% spike in incident reports. I rebuilt the training around real decisions — not rules — using branching scenarios in Storyline 360.

De-Escalation in 3 Minutes: A Microlearning Suite

A 42-slide PowerPoint trained call center agents twice a year — and still failed them under pressure. I redesigned it as three 3-minute modules agents can access in the moment they need it.

Years shaping
how people learn

I spent 30 years diagnosing why people don't learn. Now I design the fix.

My classroom was my first instructional design lab. Every lesson plan, every struggling student, every "aha" moment taught me what adult learning theory confirms: people learn by doing, not by being told.

That experience is the foundation of everything I build — whether it's a Rise 360 onboarding module, a Storyline branching scenario, or a three-part microlearning suite. I don't make courses. I close performance gaps.

More About Me

Every project starts with the same question: what should people be able to do?

01
Analyze

I start with the business problem — not the content. Needs assessment, stakeholder interviews, gap analysis.

02
Design

Learning objectives tied to performance outcomes. Storyboards, scripts, and interaction maps before a single slide is built.

03
Develop

Scenario-based modules, branching decisions, job aids, and microlearning — built to the environment learners actually work in.

04
Evaluate

Kirkpatrick L1–4 evaluation baked into every project. I measure behavior change, not just quiz scores.
